Chicago & Eastern Illinois Historic
Images consist of 109 unique views of early C&EI engines and trains,
including a few C&EI predecessors.
They are film negatives in 35 mm, 620 & 616 size, and are
rephotographs of vintage views no longer readily available. The images have been cropped to exclude
extraneous boarder material, the same as a print would be. These Internet images are low resolution
scans and while they provide a good idea of what an actual print will look
like, a darkroom-made print will be sharper and of much higher quality. The 35 mm views are in 2” x 2” slide
format, 620 views measure 3-1/4” x 2-1/4,” and 616 views measure 4-1/4” x
2-1/2”. The negative size is shown in
the photo description and some views are available in both 35 mm and 620
size. Because of this, there is a
significant number more than 109 images in this group. Clicking on the link at the end of this
paragraph will take you to the pictures.
This will bring up the thumb nail views – click on any one of them to
see the larger version. At that point,
you can move from one picture to another by using the navigation bar at the
top of the screen. To return to the
