Operating and maintenance
manuals are issued by the locomotive builder and provide a general
description of principal equipment components, explanation of the cab
controls, outline of procedures for operation of the locomotive, description
of the engine and the main operating systems, explanation of the principal
electrical components and systems and trouble shooting strategy. Fold-out diagrams of major systems are
usually included. Coverage detail
varies between the different manuals and some manuals cover things in more
detail than others. Manuals are in
excellent condition unless noted and some have the prior owner’s name written
