Listed on this page are black
and white photo negatives of railroad subjects – primarily steam locomotives. These are top quality negatives and most
are over 50 years old. Mainly 616 size
measuring 2-1/2” x 4-1/4”, other sizes include, as indicated: 122 (5-3/4” x 3-1/2” - Postcard size) and
4” x 5”. Negatives are 616 size unless
noted. Scans are reverse images made
from the negative, are low resolution and intended to show what a print might
look like. An actual print will look
much better than the scan and being large format these negatives, they can be
enlarged to many times their actual size without difficulty. The negatives are sharp; having been shot
from a tripod after the subject was specially positioned for the
photograph. The entire image is
present even though the scanner may have cut off one end or the other. To get to the photographs, click on the
link adjacent to the railroad name.
This will take you to a main page with numerous smaller photos. Clicking on a small photo will enlarge that
photo. At that point, you can move
from photo to photo by using the navigation bar at the top. Location, date and price are shown at the
top of the photo pages.
