Short Line Railroader & Other William S. Young Publications

For 21 years, starting in 1954, William S. Young published 4 short line magazines.  Starting out as a 6 & 8 page illustrated newsletter – Short Line Railroader – and progressing to magazine format in April 1957, successor publications included Steam Locomotive, Steam Locomotive & Railroad Tradition and Railroading, all improving in content and quality and branching out to cover steam locomotives where ever located.  Issues came irregularly varying between monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly as his schedule permitted.  Five annual publications and two specialized publications were also issued and are shown at the end of this page.  All are in excellent condition and provide a wealth of historical information on short lines in the 1950’s and 1960’s.  One copy of each issue is available.  The issue number is shown in the boxes below.  Prices are per issue.  Please ignore the bracketed [  ] notations.   [pt]
